Early Islamic Ancient Glass Bead Strand, Mixed and Varied Beads - Rita Okrent Collection (AG111p)25 inch Strand of Islamic Blue Glass Beads in mixed bicone, tube and round bead shapes with a few antique glass beads included too. Most beads on this strand est. circa 1200 1600 with a few from the 1800's. Nice shapes and gorgeous hues for designing your jewels. Discovered in Mali. Possibly originally made in Egypt which has a long history of glass bead production. Beads were used for trade throughout the region for travelers visiting Timbuktu etc.
