At 33, hed won multiple awards, married the beautiful Clmence Dubois and was about to exhibit at the extraordinary World Fair in Paris. Note the bravado chest puffed outwards, cigar in hand, all knowing expression. He had the world at his feet. The portrait is signed in the lower left and housed within a fine gilt frame.
