Wilhelm Brandenburg, Nocturne With WindmillAn atmospheric, beautifully framed, 19th century landscape painting by German artist, Wilhelm Brandenburg (1824 1901). The composition is dominated by a proud old windmill that stands on the brow of a hill. The moon is partially covered by clouds and two farm buildings are gently lit. Brandenburg studied at the Dsseldorf Art Academy under Carl Hilgers and hes known for his landscapes depicting views on the Rhine and the Moselle rivers. The painting is
