I became obsessed with the way warm light filters through leaves and transforms something so ordinary into something deeply nostalgic

Painting this reminded me of how simple those moments were and how they still shape the way I see rain now

I used cool blues for the buildings and strong reds and yellows for the lights to show the way the city stays alive through the blur

as if their beauty depends on not being held too closely
