coppergate helmetThe helmet is a replica of an Anglican helmet found in York (England). Dating from the 8th century AD, it is a distinctive find, as very few helmets from this period have survived. An inscription was engraved on the brass edge: 'In the name of our lord Jesus, the holy spirit and god, and to all we say amen, Our Lord, Christ.' The original may be seen at the Jorvik Museum. The helmet is lined with leather for additional wearing comfort and is supplied
