saxon bow fibula kentThe early medieval bow fibula is a replica of a 6th century original found in Kent, England. Similar enamelled bow fibulae were worn by all Germanic tribes, amongst them the Merovingians, Franks, Langobards and Frisians. The original of this fibula was likely crafted in South Germany and arrived in southern England via trade. The original is currently held within the collection of the British Museum in London.
