オイルフィニッシュは、いくつかの天然植物性油を混合したオイルを木地に浸透させ、木地の中で固め、余計な水分などから木地を守る手法です。厚い塗膜で覆ってしまう合成樹脂塗料とは異なり、オイルは塗膜は作らないため木材の呼吸を止めません。人の肌を保護する化粧水のように、木地に浸透して穏やかに表面を保護します。
