Orbelia Melnik 55Elegant, medium bodied, the wine shows complex aromas of black cherries, blueberries and bramble. Subtle hints of aromatic herbs, such as mint and eucalyptus, elevate the bouquet. With fresh acidity and lots of juicy berry flavours on the palate, this wine is delicious when served slightly chilled. Orbelia Melnik 55 comes from Struma Valley in the south west of Bulgaria. This region has a long standing viticultural tradition. Wines have been made here

He brought in winemaker Elena Pozzolini who came back to the area after several years of international experience in Argentina and California

From old vine Chenin Blanc grown on decomposed shale and granite

The body is pale yellow in colour with shimmering highlights

Then all wines were blended and lightly oak aged for 2 months in 1 year old French barriques

It works beautifully as an apéritif and with oysters

and stimulating damiana

with an appealing texture and fresh finish
