Gary Howells Bamboo Fly Rod 8' 2/2 #6A nice Gary Howells bamboo fly rod, 8', 2 piece, 2 tip, and built for a #6 line. Serial #5110. The rod weighs 4 1 8 ounces. Medium action. Used but good condition. Two opposed node pattern with a light caramel color oven temper cane with darker nodes. Brown main wraps with yellow edges. Carbide stripper and chrome snake guides. The step ferrules are overwrapped in the typical Howells style. The grip is 6 1 2" long and shaped to a western profile with

stamped oil cap

The reel measures 3 3/4" in diameter (4 1/2" pillar to pillar) with a 1 3/4" wide spool

Aluminum cap and ring reel seat with a cork spacer

The reel features a Bickerdyke-style line guard
