FE Thomas Mahogany Bamboo Fly Rod 8'6" 3/2 #5A scarce FE Thomas Mahogany bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 3 piece, 2 tip, and built what feels like a #5 in the old wet fly style action. Serial #3 stamped on the butt cap. 4. 1 ounces. This is an early rod dating to 1913. Fair condition due to a repair wrap on the upper mid section and considerable bag impression on all the sections. The rod is full length and in original condition, however. The grip has been cleaned leaving a bit of roughness. Full flexing

Fair condition due to corrosion on the male slides and to the snake guides and tip tops (unfortunately I couldn't put the rod together to evaluate the action)

although working smoothly and precisely within a few meters too

I could find no sign that the reel has been fished

The nameplate on the back boasts the original owner's initials though I believe Tibor can easily make you a customized one should you desire
