FE Thomas (Sam Carlson) Bamboo Fly Rod 8' 2/2 #4/5An F. E. Thomas bamboo fly rod refinished by Sam Carlson, 8', 2 piece, 2 tip, and built for what feels like a #4 or perhaps a #5 if you prefer a more deliberate action. Sam did a re varnish on this rod, which is, of course, excellent. Hexagonal construction with oven tempered cane. The main wraps are black with a perfection stripper and bronze snake guides. The step ferrules are oxidized jet black. The grip is 6 1 2" long and shaped to a western style

The action is on the medium side of medium-fast with an excellent balance of power in the butt to finesse in the tips
